Skatch — Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Smartpositive ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and handles information when you use the Skatch mobile application (the "App") on Android and iOS devices.

By using Skatch, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Information We Collect

We collect two categories of information:

a) Analytics data (via Firebase Analytics)

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App. Firebase may collect the following automatically:

• Anonymous device identifiers (e.g. Instance ID)
• Device model, OS version, and language settings
• App version and session duration
• In-app events (e.g. screens visited, features used)
• Crash and performance reports (via Firebase Crashlytics, if enabled)

This data is aggregated and anonymized. We cannot identify individual users from analytics data. No audio content is ever included in analytics events.

b) Audio recordings

3. Microphone Permission

Skatch requests access to your device microphone solely to record audio clips within the App. The microphone is only activated when you explicitly initiate a recording. Audio data captured through the microphone is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted off your device by the App.

4. Third-Party Services

Skatch integrates the following third-party service, which operates under its own privacy policy:

• Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy

We do not integrate any advertising networks, social media SDKs, or data brokers.

5. Data Retention

• Firebase Analytics data is retained according to Google's data retention policies (typically 2 months for event-level data, up to 14 months for aggregated data). You may request deletion by contacting us.
• Local audio recordings remain on your device until you delete them via the App or uninstall the App.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Under GDPR (EU/EEA residents):

• Right to access the personal data we hold about you
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
• Right to data portability
• Right to object to processing
• Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Under CCPA (California residents):

• Right to know what personal information is collected
• Right to delete personal information
• Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal data)
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

7. Children's Privacy

Skatch is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete such information.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through Firebase. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Audio data, being stored locally on your device only, is subject to the security protections of your device's operating system.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
